Media Gallery

Photos in the UC San Diego Media Gallery are available to download for print, online, and presentation purposes. Please see the guidelines below on photo use.

For access to the invite-only galleries, users need to create a free photoshelter account using their primary UC San Diego email address. To request access to galleries after signing up for a photoshelter account, and for general Media Gallery inquiries, contact the University Communication Photoshelter Administrator.

Guidelines on photo use

  • Copyright of images is owned by the Board of Regents of the University of California, unless noted otherwise. The copyright line should appear as “Copyright ©️ the Board of Regents of the University of California.”
  • Reproduction rights are granted for noncommercial use that markets, promotes and supports the University of California San Diego.
  • Please include the credit line noted with the image.

Questions regarding photo reproduction or image identification should be sent to UC San Diego Creative Services and Publications.

Model release

When photographing people for print, web, or video projects, please use the model release form to ensure that subjects are aware of reproduction and usage rights of their image.
