Media Gallery
UC San Diego maintains a comprehensive Media Gallery with photos sourced and created by the university for print, online and presentation purposes.
Access to the Media Gallery
For access to the invite-only galleries, users need to create a free Photoshelter account using their primary UC San Diego email address. To request access to galleries after signing up for a Photoshelter account and for general Media Gallery inquiries, contact the University Communications Photoshelter Administrator.
Use of Content from the Media Gallery
Photos in the “Marketing” category
- May be used for all promotional content; should photography be needed for paid media, please contact University Communications.
- May be used for non-news web content.
- May be used for brochures, rack cards and other printed materials.
- May be used for content that promotes an event.
- May be used for editorial and public relations purposes (see below).
Photos in the “Editorial and PR” category
- May be used for a news story or a magazine article that is not prior promotion to an event.
- May be used in the promotion of certain internal events such as Commencement, Homecoming, etc.
- May be used for social media that does not promote a product or event.
For both “Marketing” and “Editorial and PR” categories, available photography covers the span of the last four academic years. Most photography (with certain exceptions such as campus landmarks, buildings, staff and faculty headshots, etc.) older than four academic years will be moved to an archive and will be unavailable in the “Marketing” and “Editorial and PR” categories.
