Creative and Digital Strategy provides creative services and resources to University Communications departments and the Chancellor’s Office. We also offer creative services to campus departments on a recharge basis.
We are responsible for logo design and development of brand templates, maintaining photo and video asset archives, development of core campus websites, and production of UC San Diego Magazine.

Photo and video project inquiries
The project management and editorial team supports the campus and its departments in developing creative marketing projects from concept through delivery. The team establishes schedules and budgets and coordinates communication and vendors. They also provide editing and set the editorial style standards for University Communications.
Project management and editorial services are included in recharge projects.

The design team brings UC San Diego’s brand to life with multimedia graphic design that supports the web, social media, video, public relations and marketing operations within University Communications. They also support campus departments by conducting brand reviews, providing brand assets and offering recharge design services.

The digital strategy team oversees the design and development of core campus websites, including the official UC San Diego website, UC San Diego Today, the brand guidelines and sites for UC San Diego Alumni and commencement. Partnering with entities across campus, this team serves as a resource for digital accessibility, user interface design, information architecture, web development and email campaign best practices.
The digital strategy team is available for select recharge projects.

The video team creates first-class short form video in support of the campus, covering subject matter that ranges from scientific discoveries to donor tributes. They also manage our two studios, which are perfect for podcasts, video shoots and radio and television interviews. Video production services are offered to campus departments as a recharge service.
Video for PR services is free of charge. Video for marketing, instruction and other needs is available as a recharge service.

Twice per year, the magazine team publishes print and digital editions of our premier storytelling vehicle, UC San Diego Magazine. The magazine includes feature-length stories, profiles, columns and news highlighting the distinction, prestige and global impact of UC San Diego.
